"God that makes me feel so old," she says as we quiz her on her style--"For the dance floor I like music with energy, ass shaking bass lines and heavenly melodies punctuated with a little drama, quirky break-downs and strong vocals usually work for me. I also like my house driving and dirty but not too hard."
Angel, one of the UK's original old skool house DJs, made her debut at Nottingham's legendary Venus on New Years Eve 1991, she played a blinder, went down a storm and was instantly rewarded with a fortnightly residency. Guest spots at high profile clubs like The Hacienda, Back to Basics, and Up Yer Ronson soon followed. By 1994 Angel had secured her second residency at top Midlands night Swoon, Angel's mixture of funky melodic house soon built up a strong rapport with the Staffordshire crowd.
As Angel's profile increased so did her demand and soon she was spinning at clubs in every city and every town across the land. She became a regular at all the top clubs in the country frequently appearing at The Gallery, The Ministry Of Sound, Miss Moneypenny's, Progress, Shindig, The Cross and the Chuff Chuff parties to name but a few. It wasn't long before DJ Angel was in international demand, travelling the world playing in some amazing clubs around the globe, The Alter Ego in Verona, the Queen Club in Paris, Pacha Ibiza, the W Club in Rio De Janeiro, where she was the first woman ever to play with one of Rio's famous Samba Schools. She has played sets all over Germany, Greece, Italy, France, Switzerland and Ibiza then further afield in Brazil, South Africa, Egypt, USA, Canada, Latvia, Abu Dhabi, Turkey, Beirut, Dubai, Moscow and Kosovo.
